Hey Robert. Getting things in the "right order" should not be necessary when the only requirement for relating is to be you. ;-) You're right though - this is what people prefer about online chatting. It's like a preference for the pre-recorded show over the live one.

Great comment. Thanks. :-)

I hear you Lesley. Weeding out the people who prefer dating screens is part of the meeting process. If we accept that then it isn't a problem.

I can safely say that we make many "connections" throughout our lifetime of different types. I have been making these connections since the first time I bonded with my mother. Viewing the world as an abundant source of opportunities for connections is that makes relating fun for me.

Well this tends to be the trend. I know that I personally can say so much more by simply writing it that starting a conversation. Mostly because it's far easier to get things in the right order. But you'll always have those that can't take it to the next level. To actually put themselves out there. Fear of rejection? Fear of being hurt? But mostly, fear of the unknown I guess.

Online dating... haven't tried it yet ;) But hey, tomorrows a new day.

Hmmmm, this wasn't a blog I wanted to related to when I first started read it because I'm also out there on dating sites and the stories all sound so familiar. One minutes we are chatting away and I'm being told that I'm different to the other girls and the next minutes it's as though I've never been heard of before.
Thank you so much for saying "perception of deception" ... I will carry that with me always because I know that everyone has their issues and that is what they are trying to deal with. I'm learning to not take it so personally and to actually have fun in the crazy world of online dating.

I would also love to find that special someone, but in the meantime I'm having fun meeting people (even if it is short lived) ... and best of all, I have made some special friends and connections, even if they are few and far between.
My recent post <a href="http:\/\/jodene.co.za\/projectme\/look-at-me-daddy-day-78\/" target="_blank">Look at me daddy – Day 78</a>

My friend, I fear that many individuals who are wonderful in text have deep seated issues that prevent them from putting themselves 'out there'... which does of course beg the question.... Why sign up for internet dating if you only want to date a screen and not the person behind it ?!?

I do however believe that there is someone out there for each of us and all we can hope is that we make a "connection" at the right time, just once :)
